Joining the HSCA Planning Committee
The HSPC is always looking for new members to join us! Whether you are younger or older, new to the area, or have been here to see the latest changes, your opinions about the future of the community matters. Most importantly, you do not need to have a background in planning, architecture, development or engineering; we welcome people who have a wide range of backgrounds and have found that having a diverse committee adds to the conversations. Being part of the committee is a great way to meet your neighbours, have fun, and help make a positive, local impact.
If you have any questions about the meetings or joining the planning committee, please connect with the Community Planning Coordinator.
Residents who are interested in joining the Hillhurst-Sunnyside Planning Committee are required to commit to the following:
Hold a current HSCA membership (you can sign up online or in-person during business hours). We do have options available if the cost is prohibitive.
Have read the HSPC Terms of Reference and the Hillhurst Sunnyside Area Redevelopment Plan. The ARP was informed by years of stakeholder input and is the current guiding document for development in our community.
Attending the monthly meetings
If you want to learn more about the planning process and urban planning principles, committee members are encouraged to attend the Federation of Calgary Communities Partners in Planning courses.
